Abby can dry the dishes now after we eat dinner. We only had one broken Pyrex dish tonight. Here was our conversation before and after sweeping up the pieces:
Abby: "I'm ninety percent bored."
Me: "[!] Where did you hear that?"
Abby: "It's on Chipmunks."
Me: [silent reflection]
Abby: "Mama, why do I always dry the dishes?"
Me: "Because you are part of this family, and you need to help out." [Wow, that was really automatic.]
Abby: "I think it's because you don't like to."
